Edmonton :
To be honest, I will never truly be able to say I will never be there again.

This is where it all started for me.

Edmonton is where I have learned everything on and off the ice. I own a home that I built there since my fourth year in the NHL and I have spent all my summers there. I made a lot of precious friends during my time there. I have business partners there with whom I own two gyms and counting with. I did many radio shows including countdown music and summer loving show, I sang, I danced, I rapped and I did some improvisation with a group called Die-Nasty (it was the hardest thing I have ever done). I also had a part in a movie called Turnbuckle and I played in the Heritage Classic, which was the outdoor game in Edmonton between the Oilers and the Canadiens. It was inside Commonwealth Stadium in front of 60,000 fans. I was voted the most-popular player when I played there, won the community award four times and was and continue to be very involved in the community where I help the Stollery Children as much as I can. This is the place where I had my best year in the NHL in 2000 with 13 goals and 29 points. This is where I got my first NHL hat trick, and for a tough guy, that's quite an accomplishment.

It's the place where I received my first taste of the playoffs and to this day I will say there isn't a better place in this world better to play a home playoff game than in Edmonton. The fans are truly the loudest in the league and it gives you shivers down your spines every time you step on the ice. I feel fortunate to have played for a great Canadian team with such great history of winning the Stanley Cup. I was there for the jersey retirements of Wayne Gretzky, Jari Kurri, Grant Fuhr, Paul Coffey and Mark Messier. It was truly amazing. I want to thank Ron Lowe, Kevin Lowe and Craig McTavish for working with me and making me a better player and more than just a one-dimensional player. Truly, learning from guys that played the game and won championships helped enormously!
